Step 1: Wiring Trigger

Connect the following leads.

V(+) White/Green OR Brown/Green Pin 13 OR Pin 14
Normally Closed NPN Output Yellow/Brown Pin 16

Step 2:

  1. Go to Imaging Setup

  1. To start we recommend setting trigger debounce to 65,535us (max). More information on Trigger Delay and Trigger Debounce can be found below.


<aside> 💡 The OV20i has a dedicated digital input on the Power/IO cable for triggering the camera. The Trigger input is NPN (sinking, active low) and activated on a rising edge (i.e. transition from low to high state, or from closed to open circuit). Additional Wiring Example

Example 1: Banner OTBVN6 Optical Touch Button

This button provides complementary NPN outputs (1x normally open, 1x normally closed). Use the normally closed output so that an image is captured when pressing/activating the button. If the normally open output is used, an image would be captured when releasing/deactivating the button.
