Exporting Node-RED flows can be used to backup or copy flows from one recipe or device to another.

  1. First, select all nodes you wish to export in the recipe editor window. If you wish to export everything in your current workflow, you may use CTRL+A (Windows) or Cmd+A (Mac) to select all. You may also click and drag in the recipe editor screen to select all nodes you wish to export. Selected nodes will be highlighted in orange.

  1. A popup window titled “Export nodes” will appear. Make sure “selected nodes” is selected at the top of this window, then click “Download.” The exported file will be names “flow.json” by default—it is recommended to navigate to the downloaded file and edit the filename to something more descriptive as needed.
